Week 3-4
When the student enters the classroom, there is a structured activity, bellwork, designed to prepare the brain for the class activities.
Presently, all bellwork (b/w) will be taken from the 4th grade math text (pages 296-315).
There will be two problems, for 10 points, for each day and these problems will be reviewed in class.
The objective for doing long division is to convert any fraction to decimal form (the world operates using decimals).
The class must master the techniques used for long division, which include; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and placement of the decimal.
The class will not use the TI83 graphing calculators until this topic is mastered.
There will be a daily exercise in long division.
A notice was sent home (Friday 8/27/2010) announcing the Chapter 1 Test on Friday 9/3/2010. A practice copy of the test was stapled to the notice.
There will be a daily review of the test problems.
The practice test will be completed and will be turned in, as a homework assignment for 20 points, at the beginning of class on Friday, 9/03/2010
