Information regarding your child's reading passages: The worksheets your child has been bringing home for homework is a great
way for him/her to practice their fluency and comprehension skills. The passages allow them to practice thier skills for
improvement. Reading is much more than simply recognizing words. In order for children to become truly fluent readers,
they must understand the meaning of what they read.Comprehension is often very difficult for young readers, but practice
is proven to develop it. The short reading passaes will be sent home every day should help your child with their reading
comprehension skills. These exercises will help your child develop skills in finding the main idea, identifying the order of
events, and using context clues to identify unkown words and phrases. These reading passages are based on national teaching
standards so that you can feel confident that every page is preparing your child to succeed in school.
