8th Grade-Religion -no homework! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 5th Grade Book Report--Due Date: Monday, September 20, 2010 Choose 1 book from your summer reading list: Bridge to Terabithia, Among the Hidden, or Running Out of Time *Type a one and a half page paper (12 font, double spaced, Times New Roman). Please include the following: Title/author Characters Setting Plot Theme/Message Describe the scene you created in your diorama *Make a Diorama. Take a box (ex: shoebox) and build a scene from the book. Use toys, clay, grass, and dirt, whatever is handy to build the scenery. And draw or paint the background. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6th Grade Book Report--Due Date: Thursday, September 16, 2010 Choose 1 book from your summer reading list: Firegirl, Whispers From the Dead, or Among the Imposters Make a newspaper about the book with all the parts of a newspaper: Comics-describe the characters thorough pictures Ads-sell things related to the novel**3 ads Weather-Describe the setting in book-at least 1 paragraph typed Letter to the editor-describe the plot at least 1 page typed Be sure to include: title/author, characters, setting, plot, problem/solution, and Theme/message Be Neat (any size font and style) You can use any size paper or poster board for your newspaper! Include pictures and drawings ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7th Grade Character Analysis Book Report--Due Date: Monday, September 13th Choose 1 book from your summer reading list: Waiting for Normal, Things Not Seen, or Rules 1. Type a one and a half to two page paper (12 font, Times New Roman, Double spaced) 2. Create a poster (any size) about the main character in the book Typed paper should include: positive characteristics Their feelings, behavior, and personality traits A "fatal flaw" that gets him/her into trouble frequently Examples of dialogue and analyzing the way a character speaks. Discuss the words he/she chooses and the way his/her words affect other characters. How does the character act? What important relationships does the character have in the story? Choose a quote from the character. Write why it would or wouldn't be a good motto by which to live your life> Finally, tie all of your observations together by explaining the way the character makes the plot move forward The poster should include: What does the character look like? (draw a picture)-be specific!
